-- Wallace O. EVERSON, county treasurer died at Culver Hospital at noon Sunday. The immediate cause of his death was pneumonia which developed after several days illness with influenza. Mr. Everson was taken to the local hospital Tuesday following a setback in his battle against influenza. Mr. Everson hovered between life and death for a 3-day period at the hospital with doctors and attaches of the institution making every effort to save him. Reelected to the treasurer's office in Nov. balloting, Mr. Everson was very popular and well known throughout the county. Evidence of the esteem in which he was held by his many friends and acquaintances was given during his illness, when literally hundreds of telephone calls and inquiries as to his condition were received at his office in the courthouse and at home.

Wallace Everson was born in Union Twp, Montgomery County June 18, 1880, the son of William and Mary C. Everson Oct 25, 1904 he was married to Nellie G. Barnes. All of his life was spent in this county and because of his various activities was intimately acquainted throughout the county. Mr. Everson was a graduate of the local high school. He served as a rural mail carrier for 7 years andfor  3 years was secretary of the Union Savings Association. He also at one time was identified with the Warner A. Peck and Brewer & Muthersbough clothing establishments. In Nov 1930, Mr. Everson was elected county treasurer for a two-year term beginning on Jan 1, 1932. In the recent election he was again victorious and would have started his 2nd term Jan 1, 1934. He was a member of the Masonic & K of P lodges. He was an active member of the Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church and at the time of his death was serving as treasurer. He had been an elder in the church for 10 years. Surviving him are the widow, Nellie G. Everson; one daughter Mary A Everson and two brothers, OP an examiner for the state board of accounts and VL state Farm Bureau official both of whom make their homes in this city. Funeral services will be held at the Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church Tuesday afternoon at 2. Rev MV Oggell will have charge and Masonic services will be given. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 until services begin.
