Albert Newton EVERSON, eldest son of John W and Nan E. Everson was born near New Market on Sept 21, 1870; and departed this life Nov 27, 1926 being 56 years, 2 months an 6 days of age. He was united in marriage to Minnie Isabelle GRAY on Oct 22, 1893. He united with the Christian Church Sept 1915 under the pastorate of Rev. Homer DALE and was a faithful Christian. He was a member of the Masonic and Knights of Pythias orders and prominent in their work. He was director of the Darlington State Bank and secretary of its official association. For the past 3 years he had been sup't of the Sunday school of the E. Main St. Christian Church at Darlington. Most of his life was spent in farming but for the past years he owned and operated a department store at Darlington. He was one of Darlington's best loved citizens and one of the County's most successful business men. He will be sadly missed not only in his home, but in the Church and community in which he lived. He leaves to mourn his departure a most devoted wife, one daughter, Mrs. Myrtle WARD, of near Darlington; one son, Clyde a sophomore at Ohio State Univ; his mother, Mrs. JW Everson; two brothers, Harry and Ernest Everson, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; 3 grandchildren, Richard Harold, Mary Isabelle and Helen Louise Ward, and a host of relatives and friends. One son, Harold K, preceded him in death, having died at Camp Sherman, Ohio during the world war. It can truly be said that Mr. Everson lived for high ideals, and was thus able to overcome the major temptations of life. He "fought a good fight and kept the faith."
