Hal Epperson, 83 died about 7 p.m. Friday at the home of his daughter Mrs. James Thomas in Hillsboro. Death was attributed to a heart attack. He had been making his home with his two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Thomas of Hillsboro and Mrs. Bernice Thompson of Newport for several years. He had just concluded a stay in Newport and returned here Thursday afternoon. Mr. Epperson was born near Attica Dec 27, 1871 son of Michael D and Alice Hall Epperson. On May 19, 1895 he was married to Clarabelle Mitchell who died Sept 30, 1930. Mr. and Mrs. Epperson resided on a farm in Waynetown vicinity for a number of years. He was a member of the Elmdale Methodist Church. Survivors in addition to the two daughters include a brother, John Epperson of Danville, Ill; a sister, Mrs. Maude Long of Hoopeston, Ill; three granddaughters, Miss Wandaline Thomas of Chalmers; Mrs. Alberta Dickerson of Newtown and Mrs. Patsy Ann Ellis of Odenton, Md and one great granddaughter Marcia Ann Dickerson of Newtown. The funeral service was held a Proffit & Sons Funeral Home in Crawfordsville at 1:30 p.m. Monday and burial was in New Richmond Cemetery. – kbz
