CHARLES ENGLISH

Charles ENGLISH, son of Baker and Emma English was born in Waveland 75 years ago. After finishing school here, he entered the service of the Midland RR where he became a conductor and remained 41 years or all of the remainder of his active life with that rr. He died suddenly Saturday while watching a tv program at his home in Lebanon where he had lived since 1921. He and Bessie TUCKER who survives were married in Rockville in August 1909, along with a daughter, Mrs. Frances A. Kent, of Chrisman, IL and 3 sons, Frank of Advance & Herman & Clifford of Lebanon. There are six grandchildren. He was the last of a family of six children. Mr. English became a member of Waveland lodge no. 300 F&AM in January 1909 and kept his membership here throughout the years. The funeral service was conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Myers Mortuary and burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. - kbz
