Otis E. Endicott, 60, prominent Boone & Montgomery County farmer for more than 30 years, died early Friday morning at Culver Hospital where he had been a patient for 12 hours. Although he had been in failing health for the past 2 years, Mr. Endicott became seriously ill Thursday and was admitted as a hospital patient during the day. Mr. Endicott, who was born in Boone County May 16, 1892 was the son of James (Dode) Endicott and Cornelia Catherine Young Endicott. He was married in Lebanon Dec 22, 1919 to Martha Miller who survives. They had no children. For the past 19 years Mr. and Mrs. Endicott had resided on their farm 3 miles southwest of Darlington and just east of Garfield on Indiana 47. Mr. Endicott had been prominent in the Bethel Presbyterian Church at Shannondale, where he had served as trustee and later elder. He was also active in Masonic circles having been a member and past worshipful master of Darlington Lodge No 186, and he also held membership in the Eastern Star Chapter at Darlington and the Knights of Pythias Lodge in New Market. Mr. Endicott was also a member of the Scottish Rite at Indianapolis. He was president of the Shannondale Cemetery Association. Survivors in addition to the widow include a brother, Clayton E. Endicott of Darlington and three sisters: Mrs. Jennie Swiggett of Lebanon, Mrs. Catherine Cox of Waynetown and Mrs. Rupert McCafferty of Darlington. Two brothesr preceded him in death. Funeral seravices will be conducted at the Presbyterian Church in Shannondale Sunday at 1 p.m. with burial in Shannondale Cemetery. Rev. Homer Elmore of Crawfordsville assisted by Rev. Elbert Smith, pastor of the Shannondale Church will be in charge. Friends may pay their respects at the residence where the body will remain until taken to the church shortly before the noon hour Sunday.
