Mrs. Fannie Emmert, who died last week in Iowa, was brought here for interment. Deceased was the mother of Mrs. Wm Lockman, formerly of this place, but now of Tennessee. Interment was at Mt. Zion Cemetery Friday. -s

Mrs. Fannie New Emmert who was known and highly respected by everybody in and around Jamestown and who, with her husband, settled and entered the land north of Jamestown known as the home place on one-half of which Isaac Wells now lives, died at the home of her son, FB Emmert at Oscaloosa, Iowa, on Thursday morning of last week and the remains were shipped to Jamestown for burial arriving on Friday night of last week, accompanied by TB Emmert and wife, interment taking place in the IOOF Cemetery Saturday forenoon. The deceased was past 91 years of age and had been living with her son in Iowa for over three years and previous to going to Iowa had made her home with Isaac Wells and family. Cancer on the throat was the immediate cause of death. Mrs. Myrtle Temple, a niece of the deceased and daughter of TB Emmert whose husband is one of the teachers in the Blooming College, attended the funeral. TB Emmert and wife and Mrs. Temple left for their respective homes Wednesday forenoon. --- kbz
