Mrs. Minnie A. Elsner, 80, prominent in the floral business here for many years, died at 9:50 p.m. Sunday at Culver Hospital where she had been a patient for four days. She and her husband, C. H. Elsner, are the owners of the Elsner Greenhouse. Until 1946, she was a co-owner of Minnie Pett's Flower Shop on West Main Street. Mrs. Elsner was prominent in a number of organizations. She was past president of the Business & Professional Women's Club and also belonged to the Women's Relief Corps, the Order of Eastern Star, Sigma Zeta, the Amicitia Club and the First United Methodist Church. She was born March 1, 1888, at Muscatine, Iowa. She was first married to Arthur Pett, who died in 1932. The family had moved here in 1922. She was married a second time to Chris H. Elsner in 1933. The survivors are the husband; six daughters, Mrs. June I. Beatty of Peoria, Ill., Mrs. Fern E. Smith, Mrs. Mae Huber and Mrs. Ruth Fruits, all of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Autumn Peterson of Galesburg, Ill., and Harriett "Mike" Sellno of Kensha, Wis.; a son, Wilbur J. Elsner of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Mrs. Eva Darst of Des Plaines, Ill.; 13 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Rev. Frank Little, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will be in charge. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
