The funeral of the late Elsie Elmore, who died a few weeks ago at Browns Valley of diptheria will occur on Sun, Oct 13 at 3 o'clock at Kingsley's Chapel E. of town, Rev. ED Smith will conduct the services and WC Stewart will sing.

Elsie Eleanor Elmore was b. June 14, 1886 in Montgomery Co, Indiana, her life being spent on the farm. She departed life Sept 12, 1907, aged 21 years 2 months and 28 days. She leaves bereaved her father, mother and brother, besides a host of friends and relatives. The large circle of friends was bound to her by an attachment that words can not express. They admired and loved her for her splendid qualities of heart and mind. Her life has been an open book. Sincere, just and loving, she held the respect and friendship of every person who knew her. Elsie was not one to think of herself first, for her life revealed a heart that found pleasure in nothing so much as in helping some one. In her home life she was the embodiment of the many beautiful virtues that constitute true womanhood. S he was of modest demeanor, caring not for ostentation or show. The highest tribute that can be paid to her memory is that of a close friends, who in speaking of her several weeks before her death said, "I like to be with Elsie because she always sees the good in people." She joined the ME Church at Kingsley's Chapel at the age of 11, under the pastorate of Rev. HC Riley and loyally served her Master. She grad. from the Crawfordsville HS with the class of 1906. In all these circles where she was known, her life was an inspiration and all the healing which the wings of time can bear can never efface the memory of her gentle, conscientious life.

Miss Elsie E. Elmore of Crawfordsville died at the home of her brother, Dr. H.H. Elmore in Browns Valley, Thursday. Her illness which proved to be diptheria, lasted only a week. No funeral services were held on account of the contagious nature of the disease. The county health officer was called, and other investigation have it as his opinion that no one had been exposed to contagion. -- kbz
