ABIGAH ELMORE
Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Review, June 15, 1867
In Franklin Twp on the 7th inst, after a lingering sickness of three months, Abigah Elmore, in the 62nd year of his age; during the last of his sickness he suffered extremely, but without complaint. A few hours before his death, he remarked to those around him that he rejoiced that he should soon be free from all pain and suffering. From that time until he died, his sufferings seemed more severe, but as the sun sinks calmly to rest at the close of a long summer's day, so he sank peacefully down into the slumbers of death. He died a triumphant death, leaving as a precious legacy to his friends the assurance that he has gone, to dwell with the blest in Heaven. - kbz
