Mrs. Mary Barbara Ellis, for many years a resident of this city, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Guy Wilhelm, 705 Milligan street, Sunday morning at 6:35 o'clock. Death came after a year's illness from complications. Mrs. Ellis was the daughter of Christopher and Amelia Couger. She was born at Waynetown on March 12, 1852 and her marriage to William P. Ellis took place in March 1873. She was a member of the Mt. Zion United Brethren church, having joined at the age of 12 years. The survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Guy Wilhelm at whose home she died, and Mrs Charles Cooper of St. Louis; five sons, Ralph, Ira, Albert, Arnett, and Daniel, all of Crawfordsville; four brothers, Dan and George Couger, of Thorntown, Jerry of Greenfield, and John of this city; one sister, Mrs. Eva Puhn of Indianapolis, and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon at two thirty at the Mt. Zion church with the Rev. Mr. Snyder in charge. He will be assisted by the Rev. John Servies and burial will be made in the Mt. Zion cemetery. - kbz
