Born Sept 12, 1884 in Missouri, Mr. Ellis was the son of Joseph and Martha Ellis. His marriage to Bessie Lewellen of Waynetown took place June 25, 1912 at Waynetown. Mr. Ellis had been prominent for a number of years in the work of the Washington Camp No 6 Patriotic Order, Sons of America in this city. He was a past president of the state POS of A organization and was serving at the time of his death as financial secretary and a trustee of the local camp.
Frank M. Ellis, 61, proprietor of FM Ellis & Sons Hardware Store on North Green Street died at 10 o'clock Monday night at Culver Hospital following an operation. Ellis had been ill three days. One of Crafordsville's well known and highly respected citizens, Mr. Ellis had been engaged in the restaurant and also the hardware business here fror a number of years.

Mr. Ellis also held membership in the Masonic fraternity and the Eagles Lodge. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Crawfordsville Survivors include the widow, two sons, Frank Jr and Donald, both of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Roberta Joan Ellis, also of Crawfordsville; a daughter n law, Mrs. Frank Ellis, Jr, one granddaughter; two brothers, Carl Ellis of Clermont and Alva Ellis of Marshall and three sisters, Mrs. Daisy Hancock and Mrs. Rosie Coons both of Crawfordsville and Ethel of Quincy Ill.
Funeral services will be conducted from Hunt and Son Funeral Home at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon with burial Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. The body will be taken to the resident, 812 Danville Avenue, Wednesday morning. Friends may call at the residence to pay their respects. The body will be returned to Hunt & Son FUneral Home at noon Thursday, preceding the funeral service - kbz
