Ellis - Christopher Columbus

Christopher Columbus Ellis, age 72, better known as "Pete" Ellis, died at his home in the Ingersoll neighborhood, southeast of Hillsboro, shortly after noon Wednesday.  Mr. Ellis suffered a stoke of paralysis, Sunday night, and never regained consciousness.

He was born on a farm south of his present residence on Mary 19, 1861, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Ellis.  His entire life had been spent in that vicinity.  He was married to Ella Hughes, who preceded him in death fourteen years.  He was a member of the Ingersoll Chapel church and has been engaged in farming all his life.  He is survived by two sons, Ross and Vern Ellis, one daughter, Mrs. Gladys Krug, all of that vicinity, four grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Nancy Hughes, of Waynetown.  Her daughter, Mrs. Krug and family have been making their home with him for the past year, having come from Akron, Ohio.

The funeral service will be held from the home, Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, with the Rev. John Services, of Crawfordsville, in charge.  Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown.
