William Ellis of Waynetown, aged about 68 years and a former member of the 63rd Indiana Volunteers fell from his wagon while hauling brick and was run over dying a few minutes later about 4 o’clock Monday evening. He was engaged in hauling brick from the station to town and had on a heavy load. The front end gave upon which he was sitting fell out precipitating him to the ground in front of the wagon one of the wheels passing over his chest. He died almost instantly. The funeral services were held Wednesday morning. ~~~transcribed by kbz
