Russell C. Elliott Sr., 60, died unexpectedly at his home at 116 N. Beard yesterday morning (May 22, 1966). Coroner Ralph Sargeant attributed death to natural causes. He had resided at the N. Beard address 11 years. He was an estimator for the Hill Lumber Co. Surviving are a son, Russell Elliott Jr. of Arlington, Va.; one grandson; two sisters, Mrs. Sylvia Epperson of Newman and Mrs. Velva Gilpatrick of Danville, and two brothers, Donald Elliott of Fairmount and Richard Elliott of New Richmond, Ind. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, in January of 1956, and a sister. Mr. Elliott was a member of the St. James Methodist Church and Further Light Masonic Lodge 1130. He was a former member and president of the Exchange Club in Urbana, a former police commissioner in Urbana and a former member of the Town Club in Urbana. He had been manager of the Smith Lumber Co. in Urbana for several years. Friends will be received at the Barrick & Son Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. today and Tuesday. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Paul Curry will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. There will be Masonic services at the funeral home.--waw
