George Leonard Elliott, 64, suffered a fatal heart attack about 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at his home at 1408 E. Main St. He was in the yard at the time. He was born Nov. 3, 1894, in Crawfordsville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Elliott. He was married Dec. 24, 1936, to Ruth Payton. Mr. Elliott was a member of the First Baptist Church, Modern Woodmen Lodge and a veteran of World War I, serving in France. He was a member of the Crawfordsville Barracks of Veterans of WW I. He had been employed at the Howell-Goodwin Printing Co. the past 17 years. Prior to that he worked for the Crawfordsville Journal and The Journal-Review. He is survived by the widow and a cousin, Mrs. Elsie Eversull of Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Hunt and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Carlton Christenson officiating. Interment will be in the Masonic Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Wednesday.
