John J. ELLINGTON died last night at 10:30 o'clock at his home, 913 Mill Street, after a period of declining health covering several years of a complication of diseases. Mr. ELLINGTON was born in Kentucky and was 78 years of age. By trade he was a carpenter but in recent years had conducted a grocery in the east part of the city and was well known and highly respected citizen. Mr. ELLINGTON was a member of the Fifty-first Regiment Volunteers and served under and was a member of Col. A.A. Spragues Company. Deceased is survived by his widow, two sons, Guy and Claude, and one daughter, Mrs. Delpha CHOWNING, of Indianapolis; one brother, Richard of Bainbridge, and two sisters, Miss Ella ELLINGTON of North Salem and Mrs. Ellis MURRAY of Indianapolis. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the home at 2 o'clock and will be in charge of Rev. James C. BURKHARDT, pastor of the First Christian Church. Internment will take place in Masonic Cemetery. - kbz
