COUNTY WOMAN DIES OF TRAFFIC CRASH INJURIES MACE - Mrs. Deloras "Dory" D. Edwards, 38, Mace, injured in a three vehicle accident last Sunday near Kokomo, died at 9:50 p.m. Friday in Howard Community Hospital at Kokomo. She had been admitted to the hospital shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday and confined to the intensive care unit. Hospital authorities listed her condition as critical for the time she was confined there. She suffered a fractured right leg and internal injuries. Her mother, Mrs. Mabel Huffman, 59, who was listed by Howard county deputies as the driver of the car, was also hospitalized with injuries suffered in the accident. She sustained chest injuries and lacerations about her face. Investigating officers said the accident occurred on Indiana 26, four miles west of Kokomo. Mrs. Edwards was returning from Kokomo with her mother after visiting with her brother at Kokomo. Mrs. Edwards was employed as a secretary for Nichols Loan Corp. in Crawfordsville. She had been with the firm for the past 2 and 1/2 years and prior to that was employed by Avco Financial Corp. and the Redwood Inn. Born November 1, 1933, at Linnsburg, she was the daughter of Homer and Mable Rice Huffman. She was graduated from New Ross High School in 1951. She married John Edwards of Linnsburg on May 20, 1951. he is employed in the post office department of R.R. Donnelley & Sons. He survives. Other survivors include, three sons, Johnny Dean, Douglas Eugene, and Daniel Joe, all at home: her mother, three sisters, Mrs. Jean Newlin, and Mrs. Donna Sue Rogers of Mace and Mrs. Karen Kay Bowin of Freeport, Illinois, and a brother, James Huffman of Kokomo. She was preceded in death by her father two months ago. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Mace Methodist Church with Rev. Victor Link officiating. Burial will be in Mace K of P Cemetery. Friends may call at the Perkins Funeral Home at Ladoga after 4 p.m. Sunday.
