Alfred EBRITE is the name of a man about 52 who has been an inmate of the poor farm for some time. He was simple minded and at times subject to fits but it was never found necessary to confine him in the cells. About 8 days ago he wandered away from the farm and never was seen again alive. Diligent search was made for him and Mr. Hole, manager of the farm had men out looking for him. Yesterday afternoon they found him in a cornfield, one mile east of Smartsburg, lying face downward with one shoulder broken and his face frozen in the mud. The body was taken to FL Snyder's undertaking establishment where it was dressed. Coroner Ensminger held an inquest last evening and found a verdict in accordance with the above facts. The dead man had relatives living at New Richmond and there the body will be buried. - kbz
