Allen E. Eastlack, well known here died at his home in Crawfordsville Saturday morning. Death resulted from cancer of the bladder. He was born in Crawfordsville in 1843. In 1862 he enlisted in Co. B 11th IVI and served for 3 years. He lived for a number of years in Waveland, pursuing his trade of shoemaker. He erected a frame building, afterwards burned on the site where the Independent now is located where he conducted his shop and a small shoe store. CB Johnson learned the trade with him. He married Elizabeth Johnson while home on a furlough in 1864. They lived in the house on West Main now occupied by Clem Moody. They removed to Crawfordsville where the rest of their lives were spent with the exception of three years in Rushville and three years in Noblesville. Mrs. Eastlack and two children survive: Fountain E. of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Harrison McMains of Baltimore, Md. Funeral services at the home on Monday were conducted by Revs. Ralph Moss and Randall Lookabill. TN Johnson attended the Funeral. - kbz

Funeral services for the late Allen E. EASTLACK were conducted this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the late home on W. Pike Street in charge of the Rev. RE Moss and Rev. Randall Lookabill, both Christian Church of which he was a member of 42 years. Mrs. WC Hessler and Mrs. Gordon Gauld sang. Those acting as pall bearers were JQ Clarke; CW Wingert; DP Smith; EA Reddick; FG McIntire and mart Smith. Burial made in Oak Hill. - kbz

The funeral services of Allen E. EASTLACK were conducted at the home on W. Pike Street Monday afternoon at 2. Rev. RE Moss and Rev. Randel Lookabill of the Christian Church of which the deceased was a life long and faithful member, conducted the services. Mrs. Gauld and Mrs. Hessler rendered several songs which had been favorites of Mr. Eastlack. The remarks of the ministers were peculiarly appropriate as they had known him well and had every opportunity of observing his noble, Christian character. Allen Eastlack was a true soldier of his country as well as a soldier of his God. He lived a devoted life of loyalty to both. After remarks by the ministers, McPherson Post GAR led by FG McIntire, took charge of the body and completed the serve at the house and cemetery. T he pall bearers were DP Smith; JQ Clarke; FG McIntire; MVB Smith; EA Reddish and JJ Wingert. - kbz
