New Market, Jan. 15 - Charles W. Easley, 53 years old, died suddenly at his home in this community at 10 o'clock Saturday night, following a stroke of apoplexy, suffered shortly after his return from a basketball game at which he had been taking tickets. Mr. Easley had suffered another stroke of apoplexy three years ago. This first stroke left him weakened and although never confined to his home, he had scarcely regained the rugged health which he had possessed in the earlier years of his life. Mr. Easley was in his customary good health Saturday night and had been downtown during the day. He was a man especially well liked here, particularly by the younger people, of whom he was very fond. He was born on April 19, 1869, on a farm near here the son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Easley. He was married on March 5, 1890 to Eva Buser, to which union six children were born. Two of them preceded their father in death. Deceased is survived by the widow, four daughters, Mrs. Paul Everson and Miss Velma Easley of New Market; Mrs. Earl Cowdin of Frankfort, and Mrs. Collyn Saidla of Laporte, and four grandchildren. Mr. Easley was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Christian church in charge of Rev. S. G. Smith of Ladoga. Interment at Indian Creek Hill cemetery with the Odd Fellows in charge of brief services there. - thanks so much to Sue P. for this
