Crawfordsville, Ind July 16 – Mrs. Sarah Ellen Durham, age 79, widow of George T. Durham, wealthy land owner and former banker of Crawfordsville died late yesterday at her home here after a brief illness. Mrs. Durham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Walter, pioneer residents of Montgomery County was born in the Wesley neighborhood, northwest of Crawfordsville. She attended Wesley Academy as a girl and was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal church here and also of the order of Eastern Star. A sister, Mrs. George T. Steeler, a brother, John Walter, three nieces and two nephews survive. Mr. Durham died a few months ago. - kbz
