Miss Sarah Dorcas Durham died at the family home northwest of town on Friday. Miss Durham has been an invalid for a long time as the result of a fall, but the immediate cause of death is cerebral hemorrage. Funeral services at the home on Sunday afternoon were in charge of Rev. Victor Keiser. Burial was at Maple Ridge. The following obituary was read, "Sarah Dorcas, daughter of John and Sarah Stubbins Durham was born Dec 28, 1854 and died June 24, 1932. Survived by two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Emma Josephine Burford, Nancy B. Durham, Samuel Wakefield and Harry Morton Durham. Early in life she united with the Methodist Church. Here was a life of loving sacrifice and service. She was very quiet and reserved by nature - only those closely associated with her knew of her many acts of kindness. She was greatly afflicted for a number of years. Although patient, she grew weary often wishing she might go home to the Father's house. When God came for her in the early afternoon on June 24, we welcomed his coming, as we knew she would have done had she known of his coming. The pallbearers were Will, Harry, Clarence, Guy and Claude Durham and John Demaree. The flowers were carried by Mrs. Guy Durham, Mrs. John Demaree, Mrs. Claude Durham, Mrs. Wilfred Greve, Mrs. Charles Campbell and Mrs. T.N. Johnson. Besides neighbors and friends over 50 relatives were present. Among those from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Abbot & daughter and Mrs. Irwin of Aurora, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Durham, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Durham of No. Salem, Mrs Sally Long and daughter and Nathan Tucker of Jamestown; Mr. and Mrs. John Weir of Yountsville, and Andrew Durham and Mrs. Margaret Bridges of Greencastle, Dr. Ball and family; Mrs. Marry Stubbins and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Stubbins of Crawfordsville and Mrs. John Truax and Mrs. Keys of Alamo.
