George Durham received a telegram on Wednesday morning telling of the sudden death of his brother, Joseph in Indianapolis. He retired in his usual health but about 7 in the morning, while still in bed, he suffered a stroke of apoplexy and died in a few minutes. Mr. Durham was born on the old Durham homestead, north of town, April 22, 1859. He attended Wabash College and afterwards a commercial school and was an expert accountant. For several years he was cashier of a bank in Hot Springs, Ark. He then moved to Indianapolis, where he was bookkeeper for the Daniel Stewart Drug Co. for many years. He has been very active in the work of the Presbyterian Church and at the time of his death was sec. of the Second Church of Indianapolis, and has been treasurer of the Indiana Synod for five years. He leaves a widow, formerly Miss Martha Watson and four sons: Raymond, Joseph, Leland and Milton. The funeral will be this afternoon at Crown Hill. Mr. Durham has many relatives and friends in this vicinity who will regret his death in the prime of his life. - kbz
