Elbert Durham, 74, died at his home, 902 Elmore Street at 9 p.m. Wednesday. He had been in ill health 8 months. He was born May 11, 1897 at Crab Orchard, Ky the son of George and Rachel Durham. He married Vernida McCormick in Crawfordsville Nov 14, 1938. He is survived by the widow; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Robert L. Vawter Sr. and Mrs. Darwin Franklin of Crawfordsville; two step sons, Paul Lee McCOrmick of Lebanon and Harvey McCormick of Crawfordsville; six half sisters; three sisters and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Robert Bollman. Services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, Rev. Charlotte HoTopp will officiate. Burial in Masonic Cemetery.
