BETTY NORTH DURHAM

Mrs. Betty North Durham died at her home on S. High St, Thursday night Sept 12, after several weeks of illness. Funeral services from the home on Sunday afternoon were in charge of Revs. HH Elmore and Austin Elmore. Mrs. Sigler and Mrs. Fred Rice sang "How Firm a Foundation" and "Rock of Ages." The casket was borne by Austin & Ulysses Elmore; Newton Fullenwider; Roscoe Durham; James Durham and Robert Fullenwider. The flowers were carried by Mrs. Pauline Durham; Mrs. Leilia Bratton; Mrs. Thelma Durham; Mrs. Lucille Durham and Misses Betty Fullenwider; Esther Johnson and Ruth Durham. Bur. in Freedom Cem. Mrs. Durham was the daughter of Henry and Betsy North and was born in Bullitt County, Ky Dec. 8, 1856. She married George T. Durham in 1880. He died in 1924. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Julia B. Elmore of Crawfordsville; and Mrs. Rosalie T. Fullenwider of Waveland; two sons, Roscoe C. Durham of Valporaiso and Henry N. Durham of Hammond; two brothers, Conway North of Pittsburg, Ks and Lewis North of Los Angeles, Calif; 6 grandchildren and one great grandchildren. Mrs. Durham was beloved by all who knew her. She was a loving mother, a good neighbor and a fine Christian character and her passing is the occasion of sincere and widespread regret. She was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church. - kbz
