Another of our pioneer citizens has gone to her reward. At 7:30 o'clock last evening Mrs. Matilda Dunn died at her home on West Market Street. Mrs. Dunn was born in this city December 29, 1829. She was the daughter of Wm. Burbridge and at the age of 19 years married James Dunn and to them were born six children of whom Wm. Dunn of Los Angeles; Samuel, Fannie, and George and Mrs. Charley Gerard of this city survive her. The most of her married life was spent on the farm but after the death of her husband she moved to town and has since resided on west Market street with her children. Mrs. Dunn has had poor health for several years and for a time lived in California in the hope of being entirely restored but she has grown gradually worse of late and during the last few days suffered from congestive chills which terminated her life last evening. She became a member of the Christian Church in early life and has always been a faithful and devoted member. She was a kind and loving mother and in their great bereavement the children have the sincere symathy of the entire community - kbz
