Silas M. Dunbar, well known resident of this city, died suddenly Wednesday morning after a heart attack. Mr. Dunbar’s death was believed hastened by exertion as he cleared the snow from the sidewalk in front of his home on East Main Street shortly before he was stricken. After completing his task he walked to the Kash-Karry Grocery store to make some purchases. It was when he reached the store that he was stricken. A physician was summoned but medical aid proved unavailing as Mr. Dunbar passed a few minutes after arriving at the business house. His death occurred about 10 o’clock. The deceased was born December 17, 1859 in this state, the son of Louis and Christina Dunbar. He was united in marriage to Louise May Cook on July 31, 1884. He was a member of the Dunkard Church. Those surviving are the widow three sons Charles of Olin, Ind, Earl of Grand Rapids, Mich and Porter of Indianapolis; one daughter, Lucille Huntsinger of Indianapolis and 5 grandchildren; two brothers, Morton of Colfax and Bert of Crawfordsville; and one sister, Mrs. Mattie Burk of Decatur, Ind; six nieces and five nephews.
