Mrs. Sarah Dunbar died at her home in this city yesterday afternoon about 2 o’clock after an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Dunbar was a victim of paralysis a short time ago and never recovered to much extent from the stroke. Sarah Burkhalter was born in Indiana June 5, 1829 and died at Greenleaf, Kansas Feb 7, 1917. She was 87 years, eight months and two days old. She was married to William Dunbar in 1848. To this union were born ten children, five of whom are living. They are Mrs. Susan Hesseltine of Washington, Iowa; Mrs. MJ Stout of Greenleaf; John Dunbar of Moscow, Idaho; JA Dunbar of Kansas City, Kansas and Wm. Dunbar of Greenleaf with whom she made her home. She also has living 17 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. She came to Kansas with her son, William in the Fall of 1884. The funeral will be held at the Catholic Church tomorrow (Fri) morning at 9:30 conducted by Father Fox, and interment will be made at Mt. James cemetery. - kbz
