Dunbar - Joseph

Source: Unknown newspaper likely Crawfordsville Journal – date typed July 9, 1925

Joseph Dunbar, aged 70 years and a highly respected citizen of the vicinity of Clarks Hill, died suddenly Sunday morning at his home, the end coming after a stroke of apoplexy. Mr. Dunbar had motored to Clarks Hill in the morning and seemingly was in his usual health. Returning home in the afternoon, he had shaven himself and stepping out of the house onto the porch, fell into the swing in an unconscious condition from which he never rallied. At 2 a.m. Sunday he passed on. He was twice married and besides the widow he is survived by six children, three sons and three daughters. Of 23 of his family, there are only three living now, Sim Dunbar of Oceola, Iowa; Mrs. Bet Bowers and Jesse Dunbar of Jacksonville, Ill.  He was born in this vicinity and spent his entire life within a radius of a few miles of White Church.  Our sympathy goes out to the wife and family in their bereavement. - kz
