JAMESTOWN – Austin W. Dunbar, 81, of Rt. 1, Jamestown, died Friday afternoon in his home. He had farmed Boone and Montgomery counties for the past 45 years. He was a veteran of World War I and attended Manchester College. He was a member of the American Legion Post at Advance, the Church of the Brethern at Ladoga and the Jehovah's Witnesses at Lebanon. Born in Montgomery County on Oct. 31, 1894, he was a son of Elias and Emma Parker. He was married to Catherine Everhart at Bowers on Oct. 25, 1923. Survivors, are a son, John Robert of Jamestown; four daughters, Carolina Nelson of Lafayette, Jo Ann Rodgers, Mary Shue and Nancy Rankin, all of Crawfordsville; two brothers, Joseph of Clarks Hill and Theodore of San Jose, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Three brothers, two sisters and one grandchild preceded him in death. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Walker Funeral Horne at Jamestown. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery at Jamestown. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Monday. – jlr
