Waynetown, June 7 - Edgar B. Dukes, one of the prominent men of this community, dropped dead yesterday morning about 10 o'clock at his home a half mile east of this place. with his hired hand he had gone to the garage to put some gasoline in his automobile tank preparatory in going to Sunday School. During the filling operation he remarked to his helper that he could not get his breath. The man remarked that he would take the can from which he was pouring the fluid, but Mr. Dukes managed to complete the task when he was stricken with apoplexy and fell over dead. He had been a sufferer from heart attacks for a number of years. Edgar B. Dukes was born December 10, 1880 in Warren County, Ohio. He was the son of George R. and Rebecca Blackford Dukes. He was married Feb 10, 1898, to Ora Fruits and has lived in this community since 1880. He was a member of the Baptist Church, the Improved Order of Red Men, and a citizen highly respected. He is survived by his wife, one son, albert, and a sister, Mrs. Albert Thompson of Waynetown. The funeal will be held at the home at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. PO Duncan. Intterment will be at the Masonic cemetery at this place. kz
