BERTHA WREN DUCKWORTH

Bertha W. Duckworth, of 401 Crawford St., died at 2 a.m. Sunday in Culver Hospital where she had been a patient for two weeks. She had been in failing health for several years. Born in Hendricks County, she was a daughter of Anna Morris and William Taylor Wren. She married Otha P. Duckworth, who died in 1941. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a 50-year member of Athens chapter OES and was active in WSCS. She was a graduate of North Salem High School and attended Central Normal College. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Eugenie Kurtz of Wolcottville, and Miss Bernice Wren of Jamestown; two nieces and a nephew. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Porter Funeral Home at North Salem, with Rev. Frank L. Little officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Monday. - jlr
