Mr. George S. Driskell, 68, succumbed to an attack of influenza and had been ill for only five days. He previously had been in good health and word of his death, which spread rapidly through the valley came as a distinct shock to his many friends. He was a carpenter by trade and had worked only a few days before his fatal illness. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church. Surviving relatives include two daughters, Lucille and Ruth; a son, Philip; a brother, Charles A. Driskell of Jackson and sister, Mrs. Laura Keeney of Catlin, Ill. His wife died here last July. Mr. Driskell was born in Yountsville, Ind March 19, 1867, a son of JA and Sarah Driskell. He had lived in the west for many years and with his brother opened the first motion picture theater in Ogden (smudged) in 1907. Mr. Driskell previously had married Annie A. Bank in 1898. Mr. Driskell had been a resident of Jackson since June 1, 1927. - thanks to Andy
