Col. Jasper M. Dresser, of Lafayette, died suddenly at St. Augustine, Florida, last night, whither he had gone in search of health. The news of the death of Col. Dresser will came as a painful shock to those who served with him in the 86th regiment. He was a brave soldier and was greatly respected and beloved by the man of the command. -s

Lafayette Feb 26 - Col. Jasper M. Dresser, Sr. died suddenly at St. Austine, Fla Saturday morning, aged 56 years. He was born in Litchfield< mich and came here in 1858. He was a lawyer by profession. He was chief os staff under Gen. McClernand (sic) and commanded Dresser's Battery. -0 kbz
