Wabash Ind. -- Services were at 2 p.m. Monday at the Eddingfield-Gerber Mortuary Chapel for Wilford Drake, 66, of Wabash. He died Friday night, Dec 28 1973 of a stroke at his home. He was born July 25 1907 in Kingman, son of Ora and Nettie Drake. He was graduated from Kingman High in 1928 and received his masters degree from Indiana State University in Terre Haute. He served in the medical corp during World War II and was located in Italy and North Africa for three and a half years. He was a teacher for more than 27 years and was principal of West Ward Elementary School in Wabash for 12 years. He also taught at Wind Fall, Russiaville, Kingman and Grange Corner. Mr. Drake was a member of the United Methodist church, American Legion and was active in the Big Brother program in Wabash. Survivors include his wife Winona; a son David at college in North Manchester; a sister Mrs. Harley Rayphole of Veedersburg; and a daughter at home.

Wilford DRAKE, 66, of Wabash, Indiana and former Kingman resident died of a stroke at his home Friday night, December 28. Mr. Drake was born in Kingman July 25, 1907, son of Ora and Nettie Drake. He graduated from Kingman HS in 1928. He later attended Ball Stae University, former Central Norman College at Danville, Indiana and received his master's degree at Indiana State University, Terre Haute. He served in WWII as a member of the Medical Corps of the wth General Hospital and was located in Italy and North Africa for three and one-half years. A teacher for more than 37 years, Mr. Drake had been principal of West Elementary School at Wabash for 12 years and retired in June. He had also taught at Windfall, Russellville, Kingman and Grange Corner. He was a member of the Methodist Church and of the American Legion and was active in the "Big Brother" program of Wabash. He is survived by the widow, Winona, a son David in college at North Manchester; a daughter who is a senior at Wabash High School and a sister, Mrs. Harley (Lillian) Raypole, RR 1, Veedersburg. Funeral services were Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Eddingfield-Gerber Mortuary chapel with burial in Gardens of Memory in Huntington County.
