David Drury, aged 62, practically all his life a resident of Crawfordsville, died early this morning of apoplexy at Indianapolis, where he had lived for the past 4 years. Mr. Drury's death occured at one, after a comparatively short serious illness. Mr. Drury was born in the city of NY but when only two was brought to this city by his parents, Jeremiah and Catherine Drury. He had lived here continuously since that time, until his recent removal to Indianapolis. He never married. He was widely known here and highly esteemed by all who knew him. Two brothers, Will and George, of Indianapolis and three sisters, Mrs. Ella Stephens of Chicago, Mrs. Alonzo Whittiker of Urbana and Mrs. Henry Miller of this city survive. The remains will be brought to this city Saturday monring and taken to the Miller home, 807 W. Market Street. Funeral arrangements will be made later. -- typed by kbz
Jan 16, 1914 Crawfordsville Weekly Journal - A message received here by George Drury Wednesday morning announced the death of Mrs. John Drury at her home in Ft. Wayne at 9:30 that morning. With her husband Mrs. Drury lived in this city until about a year ago when they moved to Ft. Wayne. She was well known here and had a large number of friends in the city. Since leaving Crawfordsville, Mrs. Drury has visited here frequently. The message of her death came as a shock to her many friends.
