RUSSELLVILLE – Mrs. Bertha L. Doyle, 93, retired Montgomery County school teacher died Monday night in the Ben Hur Home at Crawfordsville after an illness of about six years. She was the widow Alva Doyle, a painter in the Russellville area for many years. Mrs. Doyle taught the Women's Bible Class of the Russellville Christian Church for many years and held different offices in the Women's Missionary Society. She was a member of Russellville Chapter 311 Order of Eastern Star, Pythian Sisters and Home and Garden Club. She graduated from Waveland High School and a Normal College at Danville. Mrs. Doyle was born in Parkersburg, Jan, 23, 1878, to William and Mary Clay Goff. She married Alva M. Doyle on June 15, 1904. Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. Beulah Crodian of Indianapolis and Mrs. Maurine McCullough of Wingate and three nephews, Lodell Roquet of Indianapolis, Ralph Carrington of Stafford, Va., and Billy Goff of Monticello. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in McGaughey & Son Funeral Home here. Rev. Leo Thompson will officiate. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery near Russellville. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Tuesday. – jlr
