Services for Lee C. Doyel, 80, Brandenton, Fla, formerly of Carmel and Crawfordsville, will be held in the Bayshore Funeral Home at Bradenton with burial in Manasota Memorial Park there. Mr. Doyel died Saturday at Bradenton where he had lived the last 12 years. He was a member of the Suncoast Christian Church there and American Legion Post 155 and 40 and 8 Society at Carmel. He designed and built the first radio at Crawfordsville in 1921. While at Crawfordsville, where he was born, he operated a radio repair and sound system business. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Fund or Lung Association. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Edythe Bannon Doyel.

Lee C. Doyel, 80, died Sept 9 at Bradenton, Fla., where he has been a resident for the past 12 years. He was a former resident of Carmel, where he had lived since 1953, moving there from Crawfordsville. He was a member of Suncoast Christian Church in Bradenton and was also a member of American Legion Post 155 and the 40 & 8 Society of Carmel. He was active most of his lifetime in the musical field and was a member until recently of the Bradenton Chapter of the Hammond Organ Society. He was active in the radio and electronics field designing and building the first radio in Crawfordsville in 1921. He was also a pioneer ham operator. While in Crawfordsville, he as an active member of Elks,Moose,and Eagles and operated a radio repair and sound system business for many years. Born July 5, 1898, in Crawfordsville, he was the son of Elza and Cynthia Whitaker Doyel. He was married June 22, 1941 to Edythe Bannon of Crawfordsville, who survives. Services were in Bradenton with burial at Manasota Memorial Park, Bradenton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Fund or the Lung Association. -kbz
