Tommy Downs, 9-day-old son of Marvin and Marjorie Zeigler Downs who reside southeast of Hillsboro died about 11 p.m. Monday night Oct 29. The infant was taken ill only a short time before when the parents noticed his labored breathing. He was rushed to Culver Hospital and died just as they arrived at the hospital. Tommy was born Oct 20, 1951 at Culver. The survivors include the parents and three brothers, Robert, William and Jack. The Rev. Bennett Fulp of Crawfordsville conducted the funeral service at the Downs home at 10:30 Wednesday morning. The flower bearers were Rachel Beckelhimer, Lamoyne Waggoner, Mabel Allen, Ruby Barker, Mary Downs, Helen Downs, Anna Marie Walter and Betty Walter. Burial was in the Masonic cemetery in Waynetown. – kbz
