DOWELL, Maude - Montgomery InGenWeb Project

Hillsboro - Mrs. L. Maude Dowell, 86 died at 5:43 p.m. Thursday in Lane House Care Center at Crawfordsville.  A homemaker and former Hillsboro resident her memberships included Hillsboro United Methodist Church and Alamo Chapter 498 Order of Eastern Star where she was a pst worthy matron.  She was also a former member of Jackson Heights United Methodist Church in Tippecanoe County.

She was born Aug 14, 1906 at Champaign, Ill to Louis A. and Ella Hilderbrand McCormick.  On June 11, 1927 she married Thomas E. Dowell at Champaign.  He died April 89, 1987.  Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Mary Ann Meeks of Crawfordsville; one brother, Paul T. McCormick of Tolono, Ill; five sisters, Mrs. G Donavan (Florence) Coil of Tolono; Mrs. Glesna Ekholm of McKeesport, PA; Lucille Castor of Mahomet, Ill; Bonnie Brear of Clarksville and Ruby McCormick of Nokomis, Fla; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  Five brothers and one sister also preceded her in death.  Services are set for 2 p.m. today in Cramer-Shoemaker Funeral Home at Waynetown with burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.  Friends may call two hours prior to the services.
