Darol L. Dowell, 83, Crawfordsville died 4:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Clare Medical Center. Mr. Dowell worked as a driver for McDaniel;s Freight Line and later for Arkin Truck Lines, retiring in 1981. He was an Army veteran who setved during World War II. His memberships included American Legion 72 and Teamsters Union 710. He was educated in Crawfordsville schools.
He was born March 8, 1921 at Crawfordsville to William David and Fannie Gillam Dowell. He married Euleta Carter on Aug 27, 1940 at Crawfordsville. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Gary Ray, Orlando, Fla; a daughter, Sharon Congdon, Tampa, Fla; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Nine brothers and sisters are deceased.
Funeral services are schedule 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home, 107 N Grant Ave, Crawfordsville. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. today in the funeral home.
