DOUGLAS, Louis Jack - WWII

Louis Jack Douglas, 80 of Crawfordsville died at 12:05 p.m. Sunday in Culver Union Hospital.  Mr. Douglas was retired from the Montgomery County Highway Department.

He was a World War II Army veteran, who served in Africa.  He was a member of the Baptist Church, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He attended Crawfordsville HS.  He was born Nov 26, 1916 at Crawfordsville to John R. and Daisy D. Pointer Douglas.  He married LaVee Campbell Dec 6, 1948 at Crawfordsville. She died April 12, 1980. Surviving are two brothers, M. Earl of South Bend and Hobert L. of Safety Harbor, Fla and two sisters, V. Ellen Fruits of Kansas City, Kan and Mary M. Brady of Crawfordsville.

A foster son, Damon; three sisters, Dorothy M. Bryant, Laura Douglas and V. Maxine Krout and two brothers, E. Lloyd Douglas and David A. Douglas are deceased. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Aldrich officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.  Military graveside rites will be performed by the American Legion and VFW. Friends may call from 1-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. - kbz
