DOUGLAS, Evalyn Shultz - Montgomery InGenWeb Project

NEW MARKET - Mrs. Evalyn Douglas, a school teacher 19 ½ years in Montgomery and Fountain counties, died at 3 a.m. Sunday at her home near here on Rt. 2, Crawfordsville. She was the wife of Robert Douglas and had been ill four years. A daughter of Monroe and Alta Rifle Shultz, she was born Oct. 12, 1907, in Montgomery County. She married Mr. Douglas on Aug. 22, 1943, at Newtown. Mrs. Douglas was a graduate of Newtown High School and attended Indiana State. She was a member of New Market United Methodist Church, WSCS and Woman's Club and the Newtown OES, in which she was a past matron. Surviving are her husband and a brother, John Monroe Shultz of Newtown. Her parents, two brothers and three sisters are deceased. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Reeves Funeral Home here, with Rev. Dale Payne of New Market United Methodist Church officiating and burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today. - jlr
