At the home of Mr. and Mrs. E.F Dorsey, 611 S. Green Street occurred the death of their daughter, Rebecca E. Dorsey, at 8:40 Monday morning. Rebecca was born Jan 16, 1891 when the family resided at the Central School building. At this time there existed an intense rivalry between the classes of ’91 and ’92 in the local school and each wished to have the new baby bear its name. In this the senior class succeeded and Rebecca was known as “91” by the class, presented with a gold class pin and given a place on the stage with the class at commencement time. Rebecca united with the First ME Church during the Ostrom revival meeting in the year 1899. Until her health became impaired she was a regular attendant at the Sunday School at this church. She was also attending the city schools until the beginning of the illness that resulted in her death. Miss Dorsey leaves besides her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. E.F. Dorsey; four sisters: Beatrice; Ruthana; Mrs. Frank Gott and Mrs. CW Knouff of Richmond. The funeral occurred from the family residence Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 the Rev. Ernest Dailey Smith officiating. - kbz
