Dr. Nicholas J. Dorsey, who was run down by a street car in Chicago Tuesday night and fatally injured, was once a resident of Crawfordsville. He came from Indianapolis from Maryland about 1850, and practiced medicine there until 1864 when he came to Crawfordsville where he lived until about fourteen years ago. His wife and two children, Dr. Lloyd Dorsey and Miss Annie Dorsey, are living. During the war Dr. Dorsey was commissioned by Governor Morton to attend the sick and wounded soldiers. Dr. Dorsey, while in Crawfordsville, lived on Main Street and will be remembered as a very polished gentleman, extremely fastidious in his dress and manners. -s
