Mrs. Jennie Hanna received a telegram on Tuesday telling of the burial on that day of Mrs. Ezekiel Dooley, who at one time lived here. She died on Saturday at her home in Manhattan, Kansas. She visited here last August. She at that time was in poor health, afterards made a trip to Rochester, Minn to consult the Drs. Mayo. They diagnoses the case as goitre but did not advise operation. She leaves one son, Paul who is a jeweler in Manhattan and a daughter, Pearl who holds a secretarial position in the state agricultural school. Mrs. Dooley's maiden name was Acsah Dulin and her parents lived in the house now belonging to the John Holland estate

The following obituary of Mrs. Achsah Dooley was taken from the Manhattan Nationalist of Friday, Jan 29. Mrs. Dooley was a cousin of Mrs. Jennie Hanna. Achsah Fleming Dulin, daughter of Lucy V. and James W. Dulin, was born on a farm near Oregon, MO July 28, 1858 and departed this life at Manhattn, KS Jan 23, 1926 being at the time of her death 67 Y 5M 25D. Her father and mother preceded her many years ago. She had one sister and brother who died in childhood and one sister, Priscilla who died when she was a young woman. At the age of 5 she, with her parents move to Waveland, Indiana where she grew to womanhood and was educated in the city schools. She chose teaching as her profession and taught school several terms. Achsah Dulin was married to Ezekiel C. Dooley June 30, 1887 at Waveland, Ind. Mr. Dooley was a photographer at that place. Two children were born to this union - Pearl and Paul both of Manhattan, Kansas. Early in their married life they moved to North Salem, Ind where they resided for four years, after which time they moved back to Waveland for a short time before moving to HOpkins, Mo in 1893. 15 happy years were spent at Hopkins, including 16 months at Eagle City, Ok. In Dec 1908, the family moved to Bedford, Iowa where they lived until after the death of Mr. Dooley which occurred Feb 14, 1909. In September of 1909, she with her children moved to Manhattan, KS where she started on her journey through life, taking the place of both father and mother. This she did with love and patience and met the obstacles with a smile. She was a faithful and devoted mother and her place in the home can never be filled. She resided here since 1909 always enjoying her friends and neighbors and her home wa usually occupied with her and her friends. She united with the Christian Church in early girlhood in Waveland, Ind and has always lived a pure Christian life. she leaves to mourn her loss two children, Pearl and Paul a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Paul Dooley and other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services wer eheld Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the First Christian Church. Her pastor, Rev. J. David Arnold, officiated and his text was taken from the 14th chapter of John. This text was used at the services of her mother, father, sister and husband. The male quartet consisting of Dr. LaHelle, TG McClung, HE Smith and Clifford George sang The Beautiful Land and Crossing the Bar. Mr. and Mrs. T O McClung sang, Beautiful Isle of Somewhere. The attendance at the services and the many beautiful floral offering attested to the high esteem in which she was held. Burial in Sunset Cemetery at Manhattan. Out of town guests at the services were cousins Mr LO Barber, Mrs. Robert Fitch and Miss Gilla FItch of Salina, Ks; a niece, Mrs. Eva Harness, Colorado Springs, Miss Georgie and John Dooley, a niece and nephew from Hopkins, Mo. and a dear friend, mrs. Chas White of Peoria, ill; Mrs. Clyde Hagberg of Clay Center, Ks; Miss Maude Hamilton of Topeka, Ks and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Ford of Riley, Ks.
