Mrs. Bertha Dinwiddie, 69, of Newtown, died at 5:509 p.m. Tuesday, Dec 20 1949 in Culver hospital, Crawfordsville, after a 24 hour illness which followed a heart attack.She suffered the attack while visiting at the home of her daughter Mrs. Kate Royal in Crawfordsville. She was the daughter of John and Laura Miller Riffle and was born Feb 7 1880 in Monticello. On Dec 20 1899 she was married to Lee Dinwiddie, who preceded her in death in 1916. She was a member of the Newtown Methodist church and the Richland Twp, Home Economics Club. She was a retired employee of the Methodist hospital in Indianapolis where she worked 23 years. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Edith House, Eta Jim, Japan, and Mrs. Kate Royal; three sisters Mrs. Alta Shultz, Newtown, Mrs. Gertrude Black, Crawfordsville and Mrs. Eula Keyt, Lakeview, Mich. and two grandchildren. The body was removed to the Crumley Funeral home in Hillsboro and then to the Royal home in Newtown Wednesday evening. Funeral arrangements incomplete until word is received from the daughter in Japan.
