George Dillman, who has been seriously ill for several months, died on Thursday evening of last week. Death was caused by tuberculosis. Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at three.The Rev. F.E. Graves of New Ross who was to have had charge was delayed by an accident at Parkersburg. Rev. C. B. Stanforth then conducted the service. The pall bearers were, Jesse Burford, Dr. D.M. Harbeson, Thomas Jackson, Will Durham and Harry Durham, also Will White.The Flowers were carried by George Deer, J.D. Fisher, J.M. Milligan, Sam Milligan, C.R. Hostetler and G.M. Cowan. Burial at Maple Ridge. The following obituary was read.George Theodore Dillman, son of John and Ellen Dillman, was born in Newburn IN October 2 1864 and departed this life December 12 at the age of 65 years. When a young man he went to Crawfordsville where he was employed at the hardware store of the Mahorney Bros. to learn the tinner's trade. In 1890 he came to Waveland with a horse and wagon and a tinner's outfit and $19 and started a hardware store. Here he spent his entire life and through hard work and keen business insight, he built up a business that will ever stand as a monument to his memory. He was a man of few words and the world alone knows of the many deeds of kindness and helpfulness that he did to brighten and cheer the lives of others.He was a faithful member of the Christian Church and took his place regularly as long as his health permitted. At the time of his death he was one of the trustees."December 28, 1892 he was united in marriage to Miss Atha Putnam of Glenwood, IN who was employed here as a milliner at the time. To this union were born three children, Garrie Lee, Maxwell of Waveland, and Mrs. Mabel Seybert, who with five grandchildren, Norman Lee, Martha Ann, Robert Dale, and Harriet Jane Dillman and Suzanne Seybert survive him. He is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Hiram Connard, of St. Louis, Mrs, Frank Davis and Miss Lydia Dillman of Crawfordsville and a host of relatives and friends who mourn the passing of a g ood and useful man."Mr. Dillman was the oldest businessman in continuous business in Waveland. While a hard worker, he was interested in many things outside his business, and he could always be counted on in any matter for the public good, He was especially interested in flowers and devoted quite a lot of time and money to beautifying his home grounds, so that they were always an ornament to the town. He will be greatly missed.Among those here for the funeral of George T. Dillman, were Mrs. Hiram Connard of St. Louis, Mr and Mrs Frank Davis and Miss Lydia Dillman and Dr. and Mrs Ralph Wilson of Crawfordsville. Curtis McCalip of Washington DC Emmet Putnam of Muncie, Mr and Mrs Edward Goeke, Milton Goeke and Geo W. Thompson of Indianapolis, Will Campbell of Attica, Mr and Mrs George Deere, U.G. Vail and Joe McNutt of Crawfordsville.The will of the late George Dillman gives his one-third interest in the hardware store, accounts and building to Garrie and Maxwell Dillman; his one-third interest in the restaurant and barber shop rooms to Mabel Seybert with his notes and cash to Lidia Dillman $500 cash; to Garrie and Maxwell Dillman and Mabel Seybert, sharing equally the home and grounds, garage and wareroom and all cash from insurance or stocks. Garrie and Maxwell are named as exec. with JM Milligan and CH Johnson attorneys. - kbz

Notice to Heirs, Creditors, Etc. In the Matter of the Estate of George T. Dillman, Deceased. In the Montgomery Circuit Court September Term, 1930. Notice is hereby given that Garrie Dillman as Executer of the estate of George T. Dillman, deceased, has presented and filed his account and vouchers in final settlement of said estate, and that the same will come up for examination and action of said Circuit Court on the 26th day of January 1931, at which time all heirs, creditors or legatees of said estate are required to appear in said Court and show cause if any there be, why said account and vouchers should not be approved.
