Alice Dickey, the second child of Newton J. and Matilda Glover was born on the 23rd day of November, 1852 and died on the 24th of November, 1912 at the age of sixty years and one day. Her early life was spent in Waveland, receiving her education at the Academy. On the l6th of September, 1874 she was united in marriage to George Albert Dickey and was removed with him to Tipton, Indiana. To this union were born seven children, three of whom are present on this occasion. She is survived by five sons, Harry, Charley, Herbert, Walter and Frank, one sister, Mrs. Mary Hanna and two brothers, Robert and John Glover. In early life she connected herself with the Presbyterian Church of this place during the ministry of Dr. Robt. Irwin. After her marriage to Mr. Dickey she transferred her membership to the United Presbyterian Church of Tipton, joining her husband who held a membership in that congregation. There she became an earnest worker in the church and sabbath school and all the auxilliaries beloinging to the church. Her health failed several years ago and she was given a lot of suffering, which one is seldom called upon to bear. For the last three years she has been practically helpless, but through it all, she always had a hopeful and cheerful spirit. She was a close student of the Bible and never did she waver from her belief of happiness and peacefulness of the beyond and often expressed her desire to go. Funeral services at the home of G. E. Hanna were held on Friday at eleven by Rev. F. B. Solin. Interment in the Presbyterian Cemetery. It is worthy to note that Mr. Dickey died in March and Mrs. Matilda Glover in January, making three deaths in the family within the year. Those present from a distance were; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Dickey, of Chicago; Harry Dickey, of Terre Haute; Frank Dickey, of Denver; John Glover and Miss Mary Glover, of Crawfordsville. - kbz
