Stockwell - Mrs. Lula L. Dickerson, 75, who had been one of the operators of the Dickerson Funeral Home here since 1934, died at 12:15 a.m. Saturday at her home in Stockwell. Mrs. Dickerson, a licensed funeral director, and her husband, Roy C. Dickerson, operated the funeral home until his death in February, 1953. Since then a son, Raymond, has assisted in the business. Mrs. Dickerson was a member and past worthy matron of Faith Chapter 193 of the Order of Easter Star at Clarks Hill, and belonged to the Stockwell Methodist Church, the Stockwell Home Demonstration Club and the Indiana Funeral Directors Association. Survivors include three sons, John W. and Raymond C. Dickerson of Stockwell and Kenneth David Dickerson of Rt 1, Clarks Hill; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Clark of Bluffton and Mrs. Livona Cook of Rt 4, Noblesville: 17 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a brother, Forest Crane of Ft. Collins, Colo. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Dickerson Funeral Home in Stockwell, with Rev. Clyde Wake in charge. Burial was in the Meharry Cemetery at Wingate. The Dickerson family were former Wingate residents. Mrs. Dickerson was born and raised in Wingate, as also was her husband whose father was good old Dr. Dickerson everyone loved. --kbz
